The Alliance welcomes new Head of Policy

Scotland’s International Development Alliance is delighted to welcome a new member to our small team.

Louise joins the Alliance as our Head of Policy, Communications and Digital Engagement. She will be championing global sustainable development amongst policy makers and parliamentarians; raising the Alliance’s profile within our sector and beyond; and increasing member and community engagement on our digital platforms.

Louise joins us from The Vegan Society where she led the campaigns, policy and research function for five years, and held the role of interim CEO for the last year. She has moved to Scotland from mid Wales where she took an active role in Fairtrade projects, and was a trustee of Hay2Timbuktu, supporting health and education projects in Mali.

Louise says:

“I’m delighted to be joining the Alliance to promote the work of our members and advocate for good global citizenship. It’s an exciting time for the Alliance with the launch of our ‘time to chart a new path’ paper, and I’m keen to garner wide support for these ambitious ideas.

I look forward to building new relationships and understanding more about our members priorities, and encourage anyone with views on how we can best represent them to get in touch with me. Working effectively together we can support our vision for a globally aware Scotland working to reduce global inequalities.”

The Alliance is pleased to welcome Louise to the team and look forward to supporting her in boosting the voices of our members and their partners to influence and challenge decision makers, and have a greater voice on global sustainable development in Scotland and internationally.
