New Humanitarian Action & Global Citizenship Engagement Officer joins the Alliance

Hannah joins the Alliance as our Humanitarian Action and Global Citizenship Engagement Officer. She will be focused on creating a space for community-based organisations and individuals in Scotland who are responding to humanitarian crises abroad, to coordinate and strengthen each other’s work, as well as promoting Global Citizenship across the country.

Hannah was born and educated in the Highlands of Scotland, with a couple of years living in Kenya as a child. After graduating the University of Edinburgh in 2012, she worked for Mama Hope in East Africa and Central America, collaborating with a network of community organisations to develop ways to build their own power, freedom and impact.

Since moving back to Scotland, Hannah has worked as Knowledge Exchange Lead at Rape Crisis Scotland and as a Development Officer for Governance at Highland Third Sector Interface.

Hannah says:

“I have admired the work of the Alliance for many years, so am very happy to be joining with the team and the membership now to work towards a fairer world for everyone.

I believe Scotland has an amazing opportunity to be an example of how a rich nation can humbly play its part to foster fairness, solidarity and wellbeing for the planet and everyone who lives on it.

I look forward to building spaces for community in Scotland and internationally to foster the understanding and connection that will be needed for this.”

We are delighted to have Hannah join the team, and look forward to supporting her to create new relationships and strengthen the work being done across Scotland to create a fairer world.
