Who are we & why do we hold data
We do not sell or trade email lists or contact details with other organisations and businesses.
We hold personal details provided to us with consent (via member application forms) to use in order to correspond with individuals and organisations who make up our membership.
What personal data do we hold?
For those who are members, we hold the personal data (name, organisation and email addresses) that you have supplied and consented to us using when you complete the membership application form. We will hold this data for the duration of your membership and will delete it no longer than one year after the website has been taken down or within 20 working days if you request it.
For subscribers to our mailing list, we hold the personal data that you supply when you subscribe and consented to us using to contact you. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing email@example.com.
If you request to be unsubscribed, you will immediately no longer receive emails from us and all of your personal information will be removed from our records within 20 working days.
We collect personal information from you through the use of request forms. Please note that the information given by you will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 for the purposes of processing your request, providing you with information about services we offer,and for auditing usage of the site. Your details will also be entered into our database for general administration purposes. We will respect your instructions not to send you additional information if this has been indicated.
How do we use information gathered from use of our website?
When someone visits the Alliance website, we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way that does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
Scotland’s International Development Alliance may share non-identifiable statistical data gained from this website to inform on our reporting to funders and stakeholders. We do not make, and do not allow any third party to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
Your data and social media
This section refers to the ability for you to like, re-tweet, share, etc. Alliance content on social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Additionally, when using our website, you can link through to such social media sites. When you do this, depending on your privacy settings, these networks will adjust their marketing to show you more related content. To change your settings on these services, please refer to their privacy notices, which will tell you how to do this.
Many social media sites provide, or permit, tools that aggregate and highlight content that appears on their site. The Alliance uses such tools to analyse and assess the level of interest in issues related to content on this website and the level of social media activity resulting from media stories about any of our content.
We use the native reporting tools of the social media networks, but may also use third-party tools. The Alliance uses such tools to respond directly to other users’ queries and comments related to our work and services.
