Stepping up to the SDGs – connecting research with implementation

Partnerships are going to be key to us achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the global blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future.

International NGOs and academic institutions have an important role in working together to ensure maximum impact for overseas development programming.

To this end, SIDA’s ‘Stepping up to the SDGs’ roadshow will bring together researchers and practitioners for a series of SDG themed events at universities across Scotland. Inspired by the stories highlighted in our recent report, we hope to engage a wide audience to discuss how we can all collaborate to achieve the SDGs.

By combining the compelling stories of our members and their partners with the research expertise at universities, the roadshow will explore how iNGOs and academia could work more closely together to progress the SDG 2030 Agenda.

The roadshow will begin in February and we hope to visit at least six universities around Scotland, focussing on specific SDGs.
