From talk to transformation – new SIDA report published

Scotland’s International Development Alliance have published a new report to explore how governments can ‘shift the power’ towards global justice.

The report, written by Kate Nevens and Iffat Shahnaz from the collective, draws on consultation with SIDA’s members through focus groups and an in-person workshop, along with feminist and anti-racist experts from the Global South. It provides a powerful vision for transformative change based on four intersecting approaches of inclusivity, feminism, anti-racism and decolonisation, and calls on politicians to rethink how the UK engages globally. It argues that investing in transformative change at the global level and in the ‘how’ of relationships with countries in the Global South will positively contribute to justice at home and abroad.

SIDA have published a briefing with 10 policy recommendations alongside the report that they hope will be considered by the next UK Government.
