Tearfund is a Christian international aid and development agency. We go where the need is greatest, working through local churches to unlock people’s potential and helping them to discover that the answer to poverty is within themselves.
Tearfund works in around 50 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe and South America. Our work focuses on some of the most challenging issues that face the world today, including disasters, environment and climate change, gender, health care, governance and corruption, water and sanitation, livelihoods and food security, among others.
Working, where possible, through the local church, we empower communities to lift themselves out of poverty. We respond to disasters and conflicts, always seeking to reach those in the greatest need. We seek to influence the global church and governments to bring about fair and just policies and structures at a local, national and global level.
