Kenya Children’s Homes (UK)

Kenya Children’s Homes (UK) is the new name for the Balcraig Foundation, as of April 2018.

The Balcraig Foundation was set up for the relief of poverty and hardship anywhere in the world but mainly deals in areas of sub-Saharan Africa. Its principal International programmes are the operational management of the Kenya Christian Homes (KCH) which include Thomas Barnardo House Orphanage & the Jonathan Gloag Academy. KCH currently cares for 200 destitute and abandoned children and takes full responsibility for their care (including education and steps towards independent living for the older children).

The other principal projects of the Balcraig Foundation are a Maasai girls centre in Suswa where the girls are rescued from FGM and the Mashimoni Squatters school based in the world’s largest slum area, Kibera, Nairobi.
