Since our founding in 1841, EMMS International has been bringing health and hope to people living in poverty through high-quality, compassionate and sustainable healthcare. We were one of the first overseas medical organisations in the UK and are one of Scotland’s oldest charities.
Working with trusted partners in Malawi, Nepal, India, and Scotland, we:
• Strengthen local healthcare and reduce the impact of disease,
especially in hard-to-reach, rural communities
• Develop palliative care for families with life-limiting illnesses
• Respond to healthcare emergencies like COVID-19
• Promote women and girls’ rights – for example, tackling teenage pregnancy; protecting girls’ health and education; and supporting girls into healthcare careers.
