Christian Engineers in Development

Christian Engineers in Development provides professional technical assistance to overseas groups. We have worked in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Philippines, Cambodia and Pakistan. Current projects include training women to build ferrocement rainwater tanks in Uganda and a gravity water system to 20,000 people in Tanzania.

We seek to demonstrate God’s love in all we do whilst recognising the rights of those with whom we work to hold their own views. We believe that sustainable development is best achieved through partnership with local communities and the promotion of self-help with the maximum use of local manpower and materials. We have expertise in design, procurement, commissioning and training for water, sanitation, solar power, roads, bridges and buildings. By remaining small we are able to operate without the overheads of a UK office or full time staff. Our publicity director lives in Scotland from where we seek specific project funding and manage some projects.
