About this event

Minister McKelvie was appointed to the role of Minister for International Development in March. She will join the cross-party group to discuss the current international development strategy and priorities, and will take questions from attendees in the room and online, including from our global partners. Attendees are asked to submit questions for the Minister in advance.

Christina McKelvie

Christina McKelvie was appointed as Minister for Culture, Europe and International Development in March 2023. She was held the role of Minister for Equalities and Older People from June 2018 to March 2023.

Christina, who has two sons, has been MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse since May 2011. She was previously MSP for Central Scotland and has been chair of the Equalities and Human Rights Committee.

She previously worked as a learning and development officer for Glasgow City Council.

Born in Glasgow, Christina went to St Leonard’s Secondary School and her studies included the University of St Andrews.
