Action For Humanity (AFH), formerly known as Syria Relief, has been at the forefront of humanitarian efforts since the onset of the Syrian crisis in 2011. Recognising the evolving landscape of global conflicts and crises, AFH has expanded its mission beyond Syria to address pressing humanitarian needs reaching into the Palestinian Territories, Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan, Jordan, Morocco, and other areas in need. This strategic expansion underscores our commitment to addressing urgent crises worldwide.
AFH is dedicated to providing immediate relief and sustainable solutions to communities affected by conflict and crisis. Our mission is to alleviate human suffering, restore dignity, and contribute to the long-term well-being of vulnerable populations in some of the world’s most challenging environments.
We envision a world where compassion and action go hand in hand, where all individuals, regardless of their circumstances, have access to essential resources, opportunities, and support systems that enable them to rebuild their lives with resilience and hope.
Strategic Goals:
1. Humanitarian Response:
o Ensure timely, effective, and inclusive humanitarian action, maximising geographical reach.
o Enhance disaster preparedness for quality humanitarian response.
o Expand collaboration with local partners, reaffirming our commitment to localisation.
2. Development:
o Support vulnerable individuals with innovative, long-term solutions, aligned with the Triple Nexus approach.
3. Diversifying Income:
o Secure quality funding for AFH’s humanitarian and development projects from a variety of sources, including institutional donors, trusts, foundations, international NGOs, government bodies, community, and the corporate sector.
o Pursue AFH’s accreditation and memberships with various funding agencies, networks, and consortia at UK, EU, and global levels.
o Certification with the Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) Alliance and conduct a donor scoping study for AFH.
4. Governance and Support Functions:
o Invest in and enhance the capacity of our support functions to provide high-quality, coordinated, and systematic operations.
o Digitise the organisation with a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, ensuring the continuation of relevant, high-quality solutions.
o Improve governance performance to uphold and enhance the effectiveness of our humanitarian work.
