Throughout its history, the Scottish Parliament has looked outward, to learn from the wider world and to share its own experiences. Now, perhaps more than ever before, Scotland has a chance to be a voice for peace and justice in an increasingly turbulent world.
Scotland’s International Development Alliance (SIDA) is the membership body in Scotland for everyone committed to creating a fairer world, free from poverty, injustice and environmental threats. Our membership brings together a diverse range of over 150 organisations and individuals including NGOs, businesses, academic institutions and public sector bodies that operate in over 100 countries.
In advance of the election, we published a comprehensive set of policy priorities that the new Scottish Parliament and Government can take between 2026 and 2031 to help achieve our vision of a more globally aware Scotland, that works to reduce global inequalities through joined up action on poverty, injustice, climate and environmental threats. We’ve organised a series of drop-in virtual briefings, and other events and activities where you can meet with our team and member organisations, or we’d be happy to set up a meeting or call at any time that suits you. On-line drop-in welcome briefings
You, or a member of your team, are welcome to drop in to one of our special online briefing sessions. SIDA staff and representatives of our member organisations will be on hand to give a quick introduction to our work and opportunities to show support, and to answer any questions or discuss key priorities. Lunchtime marketplace and evening reception at Dynamic Earth: Tuesday 29th September
MSPs are warmly invited to SIDA’s Annual Conference on Tuesday 29th September in Dynamic Earth. You’ll be welcome any time, but our lunchtime marketplace (with lunch included) between 1:00pm – 2:00pm and evening reception from 5:00pm-6:00pm will be a great opportunity to network with our members.
