2020 Alliance Annual Conference moved to December

Due to the significant disruption and worrying global implications of the COVID-19 global pandemic, it has become unworkable to host our annual conference in September as planned, if we are to provide support to our members and their partners throughout this testing period.

However, we would like to emphasise that our commitment to holding our annual conference focused on the Climate Crisis remains, and our decision to move this important event to December is not an attempt to ignore the pressing nature of the Climate Crisis. Rather we seek to give ourselves the opportunity to focus on the extraordinary issues at hand facing our members and their partners in the coming months as well.

For the last few years, the Alliance has held it biggest event of the year on the anniversary of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), on or around the 25th of September. This year, although we will no longer be holding our flagship event on this date, we still intend to mark the date, and will be holding an online event focused on COVID-19 responses and SDGs. We already know that this global crisis will impact upon our efforts across all 17 SDGs, so giving ourselves time and space to assess how we respond is vital.

Keep an eye on our website over the coming weeks as we announce more information about both our new conference date and this new proposed online event on COVID-19.
