Type of Project: Honouring breakthrough scientific research and technological innovations that create meaningful change in the everyday lives of millions of people. The Prize aims to recognize exceptional inventors and researchers from global academic universities, research labs, and industry. The Prize recognizes breakthroughs across all fields of science, technology and engineering that have already delivered impact or show the potential to deliver impact for real-world problems that align with at least one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Location: Global, with one Special Prize focussed on Developing Countries specifically.
Eligibility: Open to researchers and inventors involved in developing impactful solutions. Special prizes available for innovators from developing countries, women innovators, and innovators in emerging fields. No self-nominations;. The VinFuture Prize welcomes nominations from reputable organizations such as universities, research institutes/centers, academies of science and technology, scientific associations/networks, corporations and industries, innovation incubators and from prominent individuals in related areas.
Grant size: Grand Prize: $3 million. Three Special Prizes: $500,000
