Type of project: In Sub-Saharan Africa, the Charity restricts applications to those relating to three principal areas of work: sanitation, irrigation, hygiene and access to clean water (WASH). The Charity is particularly interested in low-tech, repeatable schemes involving local communities. Women’s empowerment including education, training, enhancing life chances, reproductive choices, safe childbirth, and access for vulnerable groups. Provision of recycled tools and equipment.
Location: London and Sub-Saharan Africa
Eligibility: Registered charities with annual incomes of up to £5m.
Grant size: £3,000 – £10,000 for first-time applicants. Core costs can be considered where the trustees have some familiarity with the organisation and its effectiveness.
Deadline: ‘At least 4 weeks before the next trustee meeting in August’
