Scotdec’s vision is that young people in Scotland are able and motivated to challenge global inequality creating a fairer future for all. We are committed to social justice, sustainable development, equality and diversity alongside a belief that people can bring about change.
We work to build capacity in the formal and informal Scottish education sectors: with teachers, student teachers and Early Years practitioners, and with youth workers and young leaders. We do this by providing quality professional learning opportunities and learning resources to support Global Citizenship and Anti-Racist Education across all sectors of education. Our approach is inclusive and participatory with a creative and responsive approach to learning.
Scotdec is committed to centering educators in our work. We recognise that teachers and educators are the experts in their subject area, curriculum and setting. We work collaboratively with them to identify where Global Citizenship Education has synergies with their subject, co-design innovative curriculum ideas, bring in expert partners, create education materials and enrich the experiences of learners.
