Scotland-Africa Surgical Training SCIO

A team of UK General Surgeons and Skills centre technicians from RCSEd working with Rwandan Surgeons and technicians to establish an RCSEd credentialed Basic Surgical Skills Course delivered by a trained Rwandan faculty for 1st year postgraduate surgical trainees. The UK team are collaborating with colleagues from the University of Rwanda, COSECSA and the Rwandan Surgical Society. The project began in 2014 with annual visits except during the Covid-19 pandemic.
