Quakers in Scotland

Quakerism is a religion with Christian roots, whose worship is based on silence and listening to the spirit. Quakers try to live by the ‘testimonies’ or spiritual principles of truth, equality sustainability, peace and simplicity. Quakers are led by faith to take action for lasting peace and social justice. In Scotland, we work to build relationships with politicians at Holyrood and together with other civil society groups to support action for climate justice, equitable land reform and peacebuilding (including Peace Education) and advocacy on human rights aspects of public investment.
