Empower Women for Change

Empower Women for Change (EWfC) is a Black women-led, anti-racist grassroots charity established in 2015. Based in Glasgow and working across Scotland and Africa, we empower ethnic minority, migrant, and refugee women and families who are most affected by poverty, deprivation, trauma, and systemic inequality.
EWfC focus is to reduce poverty, promote equity, and create opportunities for BME women and girls to thrive. We do this through community-led, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed support that addresses immediate needs while building long-term pathways to sustainability, resilience, and inclusion.
Core Activities and Services
1. Poverty Relief and Food Security
2. Support for isolated and disengaged BME Women and Girls
3. Health, Wellbeing, and Trauma Recovery
4. Employability & Entrepreneurship skills development
5. Community Climate Action

.

Strategic Approach
At its core, EWfC meets urgent needs while building longer-term resilience. We adopt a holistic, trauma informed, women-centred model that combines:
• Immediate support
• Empowerment pathways
• Systemic change: (co-production with women shaping solutions).
Strategic priorities are to tackle poverty, trauma, and exclusion, while promoting equity, wellbeing, and resilience. We focus especially on groups most at risk: e.g. asylum seekers, refugees, women with NRPF
