Strengthen your team’s core skills | masterclass session with The Learning Hub

19 March 2025, 10:30–12:00 PM
Online

The Learning Hub, an initiative of the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is excited to invite you to a free Masterclass session in March 2025, designed specifically for non-profits and civil society organisations like yours. This session focuses on developing core skills that are essential for building organisational resilience and fostering stronger, more collaborative teams.

In today’s challenging landscape, we know that funding gaps or staffing changes can significantly impact your operations. This Masterclass is here to help you navigate those challenges by helping to distribute key skills across your team. Here’s how it can help:

Upskill new team members and volunteers quickly and effectively.

Cross-skill existing staff to broaden their capabilities and improve team-wide flexibility.

Enhance collaboration by equipping your team with a wider range of skills, making your organisation more adaptable and resilient.

What skills areas will be covered, and when?

That’s up to you! The three themes and related skills areas on offer are:

  1. Facilitating Adult Learning, including:
  1. Developing the mindsets, skills, and techniques to run workshops in a fun, engaging, and professional way.

Please complete this 1-minute form to tell us which areas most interest you. There is more detail on learning outcomes etc on the form

This is only to help us understand what is most useful for you, and there is no obligation to sign up! We will come back to you with a more tailored offer based on the feedback from SIDA members, with suggested times in March 2025 to organise the 90-minute Masterclass session.

How does the Masterclass work?

The Masterclass blends short video-based online resources with an interactive face-to-face Masterclass session (via Microsoft Teams) to create a dynamic, engaging learning experience.

We’ll ask you and your team to complete any (very short) video-based content before the online face-to-face sessions, to ensure that everyone has a grasp of the key content, so the session can be used to focus in on the practical application of that knowledge to your own context.

The Masterclass session will be highly focused on the practical realities of your own environment, and there will be ample opportunities to share ideas, ask questions and build new skills that can be put into practice right away.

Who will deliver the Masterclass?

Matt Reeves is the Global Lead for Civil Society at the Aga Khan Foundation. Matt has worked for over fifteen years in international development and social change organisations, supporting the design, implementation and measurement of civil society organisational, network and systems strengthening initiatives in over twenty-five countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Prior to joining AKF, he worked as Global Director for Capacity Development at Pact. In his current role, Matt is responsible for the development, piloting and scale-up of a toolkit to support the implementation and measurement of the Aga Khan Foundation’s civil society strengthening portfolio.
