Safeguarding should still be a priority in every organisation, embedded within best practice and applied when decision making, planning and delivering programmes and running operations; however, with recent cuts and general lack of funding, safeguarding roles tend to be among the first to go.
Organisations are doing this out of necessity; however, they must remember that even without a safeguarding lead, to continually push forward an agenda, safeguarding laws and policies must still be adhered to and met. Not only for legal purposes but also for the safety of the organisation, staff, partners and communities with which they work. Keeping people safe when they are in contact with your organisation is the right thing to do.
Join us and Angie Bamgbose of Building Blocks for Development for general updates to safeguarding capacity over the last year and how organisations can approach safeguarding in these unpredictable times.
This session will address:
- A reminder of the current legal requirements of safeguarding
- What organisations can do when their safeguarding capacity is reduced
