Whilst many of us know that we are delivering great work and changing lives on a daily basis, proving and evidencing this can be tricky. Whether it’s lack of time, staff resource, tools and systems or just knowing where to start, managing your monitoring, evaluation and learning process is a daunting task. Nevertheless, it’s increasingly important to be able to collect insightful data on your work, show that you are achieving your desired outcomes and report back to trustees, funders, partners and stakeholders.
We have partnered up with Upshot to shed light on this area. Upshot is a social enterprise with a mission to help any non-profit organisation to manage, monitor and evidence the amazing work they do in their communities. They provide a range of consultancy services, alongside a simple-to-use online platform for data collection and reporting. The workshop will be delivered by Jason Michalski, Senior Consultant at Upshot with 6 years of experience helping non-profit organisations large and small, across the UK and beyond with their impact measurement.
In this 2-hour introductory workshop we will aim to:
- Have a good understanding of what Impact Measurement is and the basic principles of MEL
- Understand why data is important and what it can do for you
- Understand the different terminology used
- Learn the difference between outputs and outcomes
- Start to delve into creating MEL plans
- Understand how to get buy-in from staff and stakeholders
- Look at the different kinds of data and sources
- Start to think about data driven cultures
