Join us for an interactive online session where we’ll explore the importance of global citizenship and its key role in international development. We’ll talk about what global citizenship means and how bringing it into our work can improve our impact, helping us to contribute to a better informed and globally active community in Scotland and beyond. Together, we’ll look at how this approach encourages global solidarity, supports our efforts, and tackles inequalities at their core.
The session will be led by Bobby McCormack, co-founder and CEO of Development Perspectives. Bobby has extensive experience, having worked as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Humanities at Dundalk Institute of Technology from 2006 – 2019. He holds an MA in Development Studies, is a qualified mediator, and is currently the chairperson of the Irish Development Education Association (IDEA). He is also a former board member of Dóchas, and in 2017, he was honoured with the Dóchas “Global Citizen of the Year” award.
With the recent merger between SIDA and the International Development Education Association Scotland (IDEAS), our focus on global citizenship has grown even stronger, and we’re excited to bring this crucial topic to our members.
