We all recognise the importance of global citizenship and have seen its impact through the work of individual members within our network. But how can we come together to amplify its influence at a structural and policy level across Scotland and the UK? How do we unite to embed global citizenship more deeply in government policy, our communities, and the education system?
What is already happening in this space? What challenges are we facing, and where do the opportunities lie?
In a time when public discourse, voting trends, societal attitudes and government policy are increasingly shaped by isolationism, racism, resistance to climate justice, and a decline in global solidarity, how can we create a strong, collective movement to push back through global citizenship education and action?
During this session, we will hear from people advocating for global citizenship and working to build this movement. We’ll also take part in interactive activities to share and gather members’ ideas on how to build momentum and drive meaningful change, with the aim of having some viable actions to take forward at the end.
Our community has grown to 85 people and organisations from across Scotland, rich in experience, passion and creativity. We hope this call will be a great opportunity to connect, share successes and challenges, and strengthen our collective voice to drive change locally and nationally.
This event is for members of the Global Citizenship Community only. If you would like to attend this session but are not yet part of the Global Citizenship Community, you can sign up for free here: Join our Global Citizenship Community – Scotland’s International Development Alliance
