The Scottish Parliament Cross-Party Group on International Development met on Wednesday 4th February 2026
The meeting explored the theme of ‘Global Partnerships and Locally-Led Approaches to Healthcare’, postponed from September 2025.
Panel speakers include:
- Prof Karin Diaconu, Professor of Health, Systems and Society at Queen Margaret University (presentation)
- Philip Ode, Programme Manager for CBM Global (presentation)
- Sarah Gibson, Director of Programmes, EMMS International
- Lameck Thambo, Executive Director, Palliative Care Association of Malawi (presentation)
- Eddy Chikuta, Head of Policy, WaterAid Zambia
The meeting was chaired by Sarah Boyack MSP. This is expected to be the last meeting of the CPG in the current session of the Scottish Parliament.
The meeting also discussed a response from the Scottish Government’s Cabinet Secretary for External Affairs to the Group’s report on Scottish Government funding. The letter from the Cabinet Secretary can be found here.
