While in concept, board and leadership responsibilities are distinct and defined, in practice, the lines can blur a little. This can sometimes make balancing duties and activities a challenging position to find. However, when the right balance is struck, you can have a highly effective and high performing board that oversees and supports the organisation to carry out its duties to the best of its capacity.
Join us and Harriet Dodd, Tophat Discovery CIC, with a wealth of experience with boards, including sitting on three herself, to learn more about how to navigate the distinction between governance and management. Harriet will talk us through the responsibilities of the board and how to work collaboratively to bring the best to the organisation as well as examples of poor and good practice.
This session will address:
- Why separation between governance and management matters
- Where the line between governance and management lies
- Why challenges can arise
- What good looks like
- Reflections from the group
