The Working Group will facilitate conversation about strengthening capacity and practice in safeguarding and embedding a healthy organisational culture.
Time: 2 - 3.30 pm
Date: Wdnesday 17 February 2021
Who is it for: For Alliance members who have a particular interest or expertise in safeguarding
The agenda will include a presentation by Karen Walker-Simpson of the Funder Safeguarding Collaborative.
The Funder Safeguarding Collaborative (FSC) is a new initiative which aims to promote greater collaboration and learning among funders to help strengthen organizational cultures and practices that keep people safe. The Collaborative commissioned Karen Walker-Simpson to conduct a short study to find out what we have learned about the role of funders in safeguarding and explore opportunities for greater collaboration and harmonisation of funder requirements. Drawing on evidence from an extensive literature review and feedback from funders, NGOs and sector experts across the globe, the research offers insights into 'what works' (and what doesn't!) and outlines opportunities for funders to work together to strengthen safeguarding in the future.
The Safeguarding Working Group is open to all members of the Alliance, organisational and individual.
